101084 footwear is made using vegetable tanned leather sourced from Tuscan tanneries. This tanning method uses natural tannins and avoids synthetic finishing processes, allowing the original fiber structure and surface characteristics of the hide to remain visible.

Hides are selected for density and structural consistency, then cut by pattern and lasted by hand. The internal construction is kept simple, with limited synthetic reinforcement, so the leather upper determines the long term shape of the shoe through use.

Once assembled, the completed shoe is object dyed. The fully constructed and lasted shoe is submerged in dye, allowing color to penetrate the leather unevenly based on thickness, tension, and construction. This process produces natural variation across panels, seams, and edges. After dyeing, the shoe is washed and dried to stabilize the color.

Each pair shows differences in tone, creasing, and surface texture as a direct result of material selection and the dyeing process. The footwear is built to be resoled and maintained over time.
